Exotica was founded in 1991 by Vijay & Sushma Khemka with an aspiration to make beautiful handcrafted fabrics and trimmings that would draw on India's rich traditions in textile techniques and yet use a sensibility that was distinctly international.

It took years of hard work and the surmounting of many challenges, personal and professional, to realise this dream.
